 Background and Objective: In today’s world, metropolitan areas, especially Tehran, face numerous challenges such as air pollution, traffic congestion, and social crises. The knowledge-based economy, as a modern economic model, can serve as an effective tool in crisis management. This paper examines the role of knowledge-based economy achievements in technology for crisis management in Tehran metropolis. Methodology: This study is conducted as a review using credible scientific and research sources. By analyzing related articles and reports, efforts have been made to identify and examine global and local experiences in utilizing modern technologies for crisis management. Additionally, the challenges and obstacles in this area have been analyzed. Findings: The results indicate that modern technologies, including the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and big data analytics, can enhance crisis management processes and increase urban resilience. Furthermore, collaboration among universities, industry, and government has been identified as a key factor in the development and application of these technologies. Discussion and Conclusion: Given the existing challenges in crisis management in Tehran, utilizing the achievements of the knowledge-based economy and modern technologies can improve responsiveness and reduce urban vulnerability. This paper aims to provide solutions for enhancing crisis management in Tehran by leveraging the capacities available in the knowledge-based economy and emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaborations and the creation of an innovation ecosystem.
